Many tall buildings use steel beams in construction.

Many times they use beams called I beam. Cross section of an “I” beam

has a shape of the letter I.

The following experiment will let you learn why they use “I” beams.

Important: Please make sure you get help from an adult and use all protective

gear such as eye guards, hand gloves etc.

Aim: In the following experiment you need help from an adult to try to walk
on your own over a single beam.

You Need: Two bricks,

                      Three to five 2”x4” wood planks

 

                      Nails  and                               A hammer.
